What is the difference between Manual and Stored (card-on-file) billing modes?

In Stored mode, the system charges a saved card on file (a tokenized payment method) automatically each cycle — the classic auto-renew experience. The mode is set on the subscription, and the daily billing sweep behaves accordingly: invoicing in Manual, charging the stored token in Stored. Customers can attach a card to enable Stored-mode auto-renewal.
